I have a problem with the bios time resetting

Specs: Windows XP
then date will change to january 2008 i think it maybe the power supply but dont want to get one of these first incase a waste of money and dont need it

what do you all think

p.s can you make it more easier to register as i had several attempts before i could work out your secuirty code thanks

Sounds like your CMOS battery is dead. If you don't know what that is, it's a small "coin" battery on your motherboard that keeps the CMOS chip (that's where the BIOS settings are stored) energized when there's no power to the board. Without the battery, the settings are lost everytime the system is shutdown.

make sure you select save settings when you leave bios f10 save settings and exit i beleave is the right one it should say at bottem of screen in bios which key to press first befre exit hope this helps
