Solved i have a paper jam in my Dell1235cn printer

October 16, 2012 at 03:02:14
Specs: Windows 7
i can see the paper bunched in the middle of the rollers but it is set back and difficult to access. I do not wish to tug at it as I may cause further damage. The printer continues to print but some of the work is faded.

You're going to have to remove that paper...no way around that little fact. Read the link phil22 posted. The manual download is here.

Just be careful removing the jam and don't touch anything you don't have to.

Be careful of the paper you use. Hammermill 24# Laser Print (butterfly on package) works well in most laser printers--never seen a jam with this paper.

@DellDebbieB -- Are you nuts? Update the firmware to clear a paper jam?

Hi,

The best you can do is updating the firmware and reset your printer. If issue still persists and if the printer is under warranty kindly send me a Service Tag in a Private Message as it's likely your printer is experiencing hardware issues and I will look what best I can do for additional assistance or repair.

You can even refer to the URL mentioned which will guide in fixing a Printer Paper Jam issue: http://www.computerhope.com/issues/...

*kindly do not post your Service Tag on the open forum.

Thanks & Regards
Debbie B

Thank you for your reply. i continue to have problems. The paper is jammed between the rollers and I am afraid of compounding the damage.

@DellDebbie,

Did you even read his post? Of course he has hardware issues, in his very first sentence he mentioned a paper jam. And I can't even imagine why you would suggest a firmware update for a paper jam.
