I have a laptop...fan is not working

Specs: Windows Vista, 2037 MB
at first the laptop battery started giving up in less than 10 minutes.
then the fan started making too much noise even when no program was running.
and now it is not working at all..I cant hear any noise. nor can I feel it turning.
please help.
I already have a back up o all my files on a external hard drive.

Are you the original owner of the laptop? Sounds like the battery is worn out. Also sounds like your ventilation is plugged up with dirt/ dust/ animal hair/ etc.

Try the link below for many threads on how to clean out your laptop. If you don't feel confident in trying that, you could try using canned compressed air on it. The fan is either bound up, or burned out. Laptop fans are not meant to run all the time. That said, if yours used to run sometimes and now doesn't, that would indicate there is a problem with the fan.

Google for replacement batteries.
