Specs: Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit, Quad Core i7 12 giggs
This device cannot start. (Code 10)

I noticed that I am getting an exclamation point highlighted in yellow on I:\ when I click on Devices and Printers. It has my name Veets-PC When I double click it has the following info.

General tab
Device information
Manufacturer: Dell Inc.
Model XPS 8300
Model number: Unavailable
Categories: Desktop computer
Description: Unavailable

Device Tasks
To view tasks for this device, right-click the icon for the device in Devices and Printers.

I:\ Portable Devices
Device Function Summary
Manufacturer: Generic-
Location: on UMBus Enumerator
Device status: This device cannot start. (Code 10)

When I right click on the icon, I clicked troubleshoot but a message comes up that says Troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem. When I right-click and look at browse files, I see OS (C:) DVD RW Drive D: and BD-RE Drive E: It also has selections for Eject, Network settings, Sound settings, Mouse settings, Keyboard settings, Region and language, System properties, Device installation settings, Power options, Windows Update, Create shortcut Troubleshoot and Properties.

I am not sure what this is and what the issue is and how to fix it. I do have a recurring problem and this is my second Dell XPS 8300 where the mouse freezes for about one minute after the system boots up. I don't know if the mouse freezing is related to the issue I described above. Dell took back the first system and then sent me a new one. I found on other forums that other users are experiencing the mouse freezing issue but no one has resolved it yet.

I am hoping that someone can help me figure out how to fix the "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" issue and also resolve the mouse freezing issue. I downloaded all of the updates for Windows 7 Professional 64bit .

Thank you for your help.

Please ignore my follow up question. I thought someone replied to my original question and now I relized that what I thought was a reply, was not.

That icon in the upper right corner of your posts is an edit button.

Anyway, the problem is with whatever your I: drive is. Maybe it's bad or not connected or needs drivers installed.
