i found a sim card at home, wanted to read it but comp. wont

July 21, 2012 at 05:58:43
Specs: Windows 7
Hard drive doesnt detect the card on my computer
When I inserted the SIM card in the computer, I expected some information to pop up. I searched the control panel, desk top, libraries, my computer, etc. and there is no evidence of the SIM card being read at all. the light is flashing on the computer face just beneath the insertion site though.

Aren't SIM cards used in some mobile phones and hotspots by companies like T-Mobile? I don't think those can be read in a computer.

Some laptops have a sim card slot for use with the internet. Perhaps the sim card is no longer active but it should still be recognised as a sim card.

Check the device manager.
