Specs: Linux
after factory resetting my computer I misspelled the administrator password. Now I cannot login and don't know what letters I misspelled so I am literally screwed! Anybody got any ideas how I can get around any of this? Also I have no backup or flash drive or even a disk to help either. I know I feel like a real idiot I guess I am one I really need to get this computer up and running I've been through hell for the past 6 months after reading a roommate and her children stay with me in this just read every single computer I have in this house and I simply need to get online at least.

To set the password it usually requires the user to enter it twice, so you must have misspelled it twice to set it.

You can't retrace where you might have gone wrong?

Maybe you used upper case letters instead of lower case? Or the other way around?

This a Linux OS? I ask so as to clarify that as generally this problem comes for Windows OS?

Regardless, if you do a google trawl/search using the string/words:

Reset admin password Linux

And also

Recover admin password Linux

You will get a series of hits detailing how to do it.

If your OS is Windows based then replace Linux in the above with windows "x" - where "x" is version of Windows involved.
