I can't see my files on my flash drive

September 9, 2012 at 12:42:58
Specs: Windows 7
I followed the instructions on this page: http://www.computing.net/answers/se... and I got up to the part where I searched for the files using the line: attrib /s e:\*.* and then all of my files were listed. But now that they are there, how do I get them to show up on the flash drive again, not to mention use them? This is extremely important, and since I am not skilled with computers at all, detailed instructions will be of the utmost help. Thank you in advance.

If you can see the filenames with the attrib command in a DOS window, use the Copy command to copy them to your hard drive. To copy all files which are in the same folder on the pen drive to the root of the C: drive, The syntax is:

copy *.* C:\

Advice: You should never put important files on a pen drive unless they are backed up somewhere else. Many pen drive users don't realise these devices are not reliable enough for long-term storage.

Unfortunately, I don't understand what you mean by copy *.* C:\ . It says that the system could not find the file specified. So could you please elaborate more, and if that command only works for one file at a time, is there a way to copy all of them at once?
Feel free to oversimplify your answer because I already feel like an idiot.
