I have windows 8 install but when I start up it want boot to a dvd or a even set to boot in bois if you disable the hard drive in bois dvd will boot then johngb21

this would be true if the hd was 1st in the boot order, put the dvd 1st.

If you can not get any cd or dvd to boot then maybe the drive is bad???

No need to go to BIOS to change the boot order, just use boot menu key.
Make sure the drive is recognized in BIOS
Make sure the media is in good condition
Make sure the media is bootable.

I have work with computers sense doss came out I have build over 500 computers over the years I am 68 and I know what is wrong Microsoft wrote to the hard drive it easy to fix buy a new hard drive and don't put windows on it go with Linux john
