I cannot fix my computer (DEL) to my printer

Specs: Windows Vista
I have failed several times to connect my computer (DELL) to my printer (EPSON). The producers of these products have not been of any help to me. Are the two objects designed so that will not fit to each other?

You need to look on the Epson site and see if they have the drivers for Vista for your particular model. The printer won't work unless you install the drivers. If you need help, post back with the model #.

READ the installation instructions for the printer !!

E.g. These things are universal for the computer the printer is directly connected to.....

- If the printer is connected via a USB cable, you DO NOT plug in that USB cable until AFTER you have installed the software for the printer !
Sometimes you are prompted to plug in the USB cable after some of the software is installed, then more software is installed
Sometimes you do not plug in the prnter until ALL the software has been installed, after you bhave Restarted the computer.

- DO NOT install drivers for the printer when Found New Hardware pops up for the printer BEFORE you have installed the software for the printer the proper way !
....

The printer may NOT be detected at all or may not be detected properly if it is NOT plugged into a USB port built into the mboard !
