Specs: Windows 7, Intel Core I5 3.3
When I insert the DVD, I get the error that reads something like this:"This disc has files on it and cannot be written to" So I format the disc and get the same error when I retry to write the Repair Disc. Please advise

✔ Best Answer
Try another disk. Make sure it is either a DVD-R or DVD+R (not a rewriteable disk).

Are you clicking on "create a system repair disk"?

As stated, use a CDR or DVDR, not a RW. All the data fits on a CDR. No need to format the disk.

A new CDr is cheap, so don't stress it. The Repair Disk is an important tool to have. If you have it, you probably will not need it, but if you do, it is invaluable.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

While you are at it, set up your back up (if you have not already) and make a disk image to a second or external drive.
