It's new... (as in brand new)? If so then it might be wise/useful to contact the vendor and get them to check that "everything" is as it ought to be?

So it's slow in general and not just because of the right-click response? You might take a look at the preinstalled software. I had a windows 7 laptop I'd restored to factory and it had some preinstalled Bestbuy software that was slowing it down. I think at least part of that was because the software was searching for an internet connection that wasn't set up yet.

First I would have them check it out for you to make sure all is as it should be.
THEN I would uninstall all of the junk programs that are useless to you that was installed at the factory. Then I would make sure that other programs that you are keeping are not set to start with Windows so that they are not always running in the background slowing things down. Then I would uninstall what ever trial antivirus program they already installed and install for yourself a quality efficient antivirus program. Finally I would run a few things to see how much it improved with the changes.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Screen shots are OK... but there is likely a list too of what's installed - programmes folder? That might be better to post here?

I'm not using win-8 so not really across of how it display its contents; but perhaps others here can advise you more in that regard?

Have to say I found the link riider pasted useful - but also a little konphusing... I'm presuming the percentage figure for each item refers to relative uselessness (really not needed) for each item shown? The higher the percentage the more one can regard it as not really needed - typical bloatware?
