I can only tell you what appears on the divice. It is as following: Has three areas that light up with the letters A F 1 in a little square. It says Logitech with logo and has a button that says connect. Thanks in advance.

I think it is a wireless usb receiver for keyboard and mouse. The button is initiate a training sequence to connect the devices. No use without the matching keyboard and/or mouse. A Human Interface Device (HID) is usually a relatively slow usb device for the input of human control - keyboard, mouse, joystick, card readers, keypads.
