HP Pavillion dv9000 laptop reboots constantly

Hewlett-packard Pavilion dv6-1350us note...

Specs: Windows Vista
My 18 month old computer recently began having an occasional crash which required removing the battery and plug from the wall. Then it began to effect "sleep". I could put it to sleep but it would not wake up. I used hibernate instead for awhile. I tried to startup one day and all of the lights would come on for about 1 to 1 1/2 seconds then everything would shut down. No BIOS message or anything. No safe mode nothing. I got the bright idea of removing the CMOS battery. After a wait period I rebooted, without the CMOS battery, and it will go to safe mode. The computer is an HP Pavillion dv9000.
