Specs: Windows 10
The light stays on unless I unplug the printer. It doesn't work at all unless I wiggle the control panel up & down several times.

The title seems to contradict the body of the question. Please clarify. Which light? What do you see and hear? Was it working recently? Ever? Did something change? What does the computer say when you go to print? etc. etc.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

The power switch is lit up all the time but, the printer will not come on unless I wiggle the control panel up & down. The panel does not light up or start until I wiggle it. Tonight it was really bad & I believe it is going to stop turning on all together. It seems that my words got jumbled as I wrote too much in the title then erased part. OOOPPPSSS!

✔ Best Answer
How new is the printer?
How recent did it start this?
Was it working normally before?
Is this just a power down mode for energy saving and tapping the control panel screen wake it up or is it actually wiggling or rocking the panel itself?
If moving the panel effects the machine being on or responsive then there might be a connector loose under/behind the panel or a ribbon cable that has been pinched, possibly during assembly or prior repair. Depending on how difficult it is to get behind the panel to investigate this and if there is any warranty left on the machine will determine how you will proceed from here.
If new return for a new one.
If under warranty let them do it for you.
If not under warranty or service contract then you need to determine how much trouble and cost to repair vs the cost to replace it.

I've had the printer for a while. The problem started several months ago with no cause. It was working normally before. It has nothing to do with energy saving & tapping the control panel. I have to physically move the control panel up & down until it actually powers up. It has never been in for repair. There is no warranty left. I believe it must be some sort of loose connection & I need to take it in for repair or purchase a new one. I was hoping for some instruction on how to check for this myself.

Look over these possible possibilities and see if there is a solution in the troubleshooting or repair details or even a parts blow up detail, possibly with instructions for installing part.
