|If you're using Media Center's TV support, you must set up the TV card in Media Center itself, and scan for available channels in that. Is that what you did, or did you do that in the TV card's own TV player software - Media Center has no awareness of the latter.|
I recently changed my TV and internet providers from two providers to one.
Before, no box was required for the TV signal - I could connect our TV and the computer's TV cable to the same coax cable, by using a cable splitter inline.
Now, if I want the TV channels on the computer, I must use a separate box, and run the coax cable from that.
(I changed from Shaw, a cable TV provider, for TV, and Telus, a telco, for ADSL high speed internet, to Telus for both, via it's Optik TV / internet package. It connects thru the telephone line to a nearby fiber optic cable connection via a combo wireless N router / high speed ADSL modem . The wireless N router must connect either via a network cable or a wireless N connection to a box for each TV or TV card, a coax cable from the box to the TV or TV card.)
