HP laptop backlight glows but no display.

Specs: Windows 7, i3 2.2GHz/ 4 gigs
Lately my laptop (HP G62) screen display has been very glitchy, tilting it at different angles would cause the image to spasm. Now, I tried turning it on, which it does just fine because the fan blows and the screen backlight glows, but the monitor remains black. I'm guessing some sort of connection to my screen came loose but I am not sure. As for warranty, I think that was for a year and I've had my laptop for longer than that so that's not an option.

Since then, I have connected my laptop to an external monitor and switched my display to that screen and it worked. So, it's definitely some connection related problem. I'm guessing some wire or something like that came loose. Also after a while, my screen started displaying again.

So are there any suggestions that will help permanently fix the problem?
