|I don't know why you would want to downgrade to an OS that's over 10 yrs old? Yes, we all liked XP & most of us liked Win98 too. But there comes a time when you have to give up the old & learn the new.|
If you insist on making XP work on that system, you need to do your homework & do some googling. HP doesn't have drivers for XP but that doesn't mean they're not available. You need to identify the hardware, then search for the drivers. It would have been SO much easier if you had gotten the hardware info from Device Manager before you installed XP. Start by looking at the Vista drivers list at HP:
Audio = Conexant High-Definition
Chipset = Intel ICH8
Graphics = Intel 965 Express or NVIDIA GeForce 8M Series GS
Network = Marvell Yukon 88E8039 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller
Wireless = Broadcom or Intel Pro
And I'm curious how you got XP to install on a SATA HDD? If you're knowledgable enough to know how to do that, I would think finding drivers would be simple.
