Solved How to use two identical printers?

Dell / Inspiron 17r

Specs: Windows 10, 2.3/8
I have two identical printers, each in a different location. I installed the printer drivers for Printer 1 on my laptop and the printer worked correctly at Location 1. When I went to Location 2, that printer did not work and I needed to reinstall the drivers. Needless to say, the same problem occurred when I went back to Location 1. Is it possible to install the drivers for two identical printers so that the installation of one set of drivers does not erase the other set?

Thank you.

The way to do it is to install the first printer using the driver installer from the printer manufacture and later you use the Windows Add Printer feature in Devices and Printers. This will use the same driver already installed for both printers without effecting the other one. I DO recommend changing the name of one or both printers so they will be easier to select the correct printer as needed. Use names like HP XXX Home, HP XXX Work // or other tags like 'Main' and Outer Office // etc., using a combination of the model number and the purpose or location.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Fingers,

Thank you for your response. I'll try it as soon as I get to the second location.

Thanks again.
