These may be of interest/help… (somewhere I have a few other links to the same effect (resetting the electronics on inkjet cartridges…) - but not sure where I dun put them… It's possible a couple of these below are essentially the same info - but from different sources...

I gave up refilling cartridges years back because all I got was smothered in ink and inferior printing. Even alternative non-branded cartridges can be sub-standard, photo's tending to fade more quickly in sunlight.

Branded cartridges for very old printers can be very expensive but those for a three year old should still be reasonable.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

So that's why there were so many smudgey, feint/faded five pound notes and $10 dollar bills…

I have a source on-line that does a good deal (the best I've found thus far) for Canon - and likely other brands too…

http://www.oyyy.co.uk

Happy to suggest them here; as they deliver very fast/promptly; and as I say best prices I've found to date - for Canon branded cartridges. They do sell alternatives too - but I stick with Canon branded.

Around here there is a place called Cartridge World and they do a decent job of it. They take your cartridge and sell you a packaged one unless it is too old, too new, or not in stock and then they will refill yours. I was hesitant many years ago but I have purchased there for a few years and off brand for a while before that with good results. I usually make sure that I have a second set so I can get the replacements before I run out so I can swap them out on a Sunday night without waiting for the morning to go out for it.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
