Solved how to set up Z506 5.1 speaker system on Acer Aspire M3100

Specs: Windows Vista
Hi, I have recently bought the Logitech Z506 5.1 75W sound system and no matter what I try, I can only get Sterio on my desktop Acer Aspire M3100. With limited knowledge, Ive tried looking under "Sound" in the Control Panel, but cant seem to find anything to be able to select 5.1. Any help would be grateful.

Here's where I got the specs - http://reviews.cnet.com/desktops/ac...

Perhaps you have a newer version of that board that supports 5.1/7.1 ?

Which drivers are you using, Windows drivers or drivers from Acer? I would suggest going to Acer's website and getting the latest drivers for that motherboard.

According to the specs of that motherboard, it only supports 2 channel stereo. If you want true 5.1 audio, you will have to buy a sound card that supports it. The speakers you bought say they will do a pseudo 5.1 mix from a stereo signal so that is the best you can do for now.

Hi THX 1138, according to the manufacturers specs it supports up to 7.1. It has a Grey & Black & Yellow & Green Sound out at the back of the PC as well as a Pink(mic) and Blue (sound in). I have used the Green, Black and Yellow ports, is that wired up correctly?
