How to restore a computer to factory settings

Specs: Windows vista, does not matter
This is different then most peoples problems. I need to restore my computer to 3 years ago or factory date. I have installed and uninstalled MANY operating systems. windows vista, windows 7, many versions of Linux Ubuntu..... I want to restore my computer to factory date.... where it had windows xp.... PLZ HELP ME!!WAAAAA!!!!!!!

It's pretty simple. If you don't have the restore disks for the machine and there is no restore partition you'll have to get an xp disk. You stated you don't have one and you want to install xp. You can look on the Gateway site to see if they still offer support for the machine and possibly have restore disks you can purchase. If not, you'll have to manually look for the drivers for each component.

it used to be a windows xp... The alt-f10 thing does not work for my computer... I just get a small blue box saying 2 things to boot up with.(you may not know what im talking about, but if you google it, alt-f10 is to get recovery options.... and it does not work for this computer)

I saw, they do not support this system anymore... and I just need the system restored to WHEN IT WAS CREATED. PLEASE GIVE AN ANSWER... NOT A SUGGESTION WAAAAAAA

Well, you're out of luck. If you want to install XP, get a disk and find the drivers manually. I personally would scrap it if it's that old. It probably won't run Win 7. You could use Linux. You can't restore it to when it was new without the XP disk and the proper drivers. And stop whining, it's not becoming.

Weeeeellll......... Thanks for your help grasshopper.:) I've decided to just keep wee ol' vista and later in my life I will find something to use.... and....... For now.... untill someone has a solution that is free, Im going to keep vista.:D
