how to replace CMOS RTC on a dell inspiron

just not sure what to do and cant find any help all i have found is help for the round one I need
to replace the long thin one

The CMOS battery, aka RTC battery (RTC = Real Time Clock), is usually a small, flat, round lithium battery about the size of a nickel. However laptop CMOS batteries come in different shapes & sizes. Here's some examples of Dell batteries:

Sorry about the mix up. I had no problem finding the instructions on the Dell site. You have to completely tear the laptop apart. Here's the instructions:
