how to repair primary slave hard disk fail

Specs: Windows XP
i open my pc and it show primary slave hard disk fail....
press f1 to continiue or press del to enter setup....
i dun have any problem with my ide cable or power cable....
how to repair this problem??? =.=''

Go to the Western Digital site and download the appropriate program to test your drive. If the drive has failed there is little that can be done. If the drive fails the tests but the drive was accessed that would indicate the cable and controller are functional.

If the issue is simply some sort of corruption then it might be possible to recover files.

You didn't give us much to go on but I suggest moving the 2nd HDD to the 2ndary channel.

i can't find any solution in WDC website......
i don't want data recovery.......
my 2nd hard disk have nothing problem and still detected by windows......
but i can't find the local disk d(2nd HD)
it not show the real size(GB)......
my 2nd hd juz 40gb,but it show 80gb on bios setup.....
and it made a song like mouse clicking when i open my sound best!

and see what shows for your model number. Or post back your model number and we'll see what we can find.
