Solved How to remove other Screen refresh rate settings?

Specs: Windows 7, AMD A6-3500 / 8GB
I recently upgraded my video card and I'm still currently using a VGA adapter which my GPU doesn't support so I used a converter instead. Now I'm having issues where in some of the games that I open the first time goes to around 80-85Hz refresh rate which my monitor doesn't support and shows up "Out of Range" with a black screen. I have to manually edit the settings of the game or I have to put it to windowed mode if there is no such settings to change. Most games open only in black screen with no Out of Range sign. Anybody has a suggestion?

How about buying a monitor that supports DVI & HDMI rather than messing with VGA adapters & converters?

I'm still a student and I need to save cash for the things that I want to buy (I don't want to let my parents buy things for me since there are more important stuff they need to buy). I'm still saving up to buy a new monitor so I can't buy now right away. So right now I'm stuck with this old monitor for around a few months.

Is there a way to disable higher resolutions? It's an Nvidia card btw.

How much did you pay for the converter? The ones I've seen are fairly expensive, about 1/2 the price of a monitor. What did you use before upgrading the video card & which nvidia card did you get? The Radeon 6530D built into the A6-3500 isn't too awfully bad. If you were to lower the game settings, it would probably be usable.

Anyhow, did you uninstall the Radeon drivers before installing the nvidia card? Did you install the latest drivers available from nvidia? Most likely, this is the one you should be using:

The last card i used was a GTX 550ti, the card I use now is a GTX 970. The converter came with the card. When I upgraded my card I didnt uninstall the driver but when the new update became available I did a clean install of it.
