how to remove hdd password from acer aspire o

Specs: windows7 starter
first this is not a stolen laptop! I run a new/second hand shop and when I purchased this from the people that were moving out of state, I forgot to ask the password like an idiot. Now I need to know how to get rid of the hdd password so I can resell it. Can anyone help, please it is running windows 7

An HD password is a security measure against theft of laptops. They are designed to be difficult to remove and they are. Normally only the manufacturer can do this and they will only do it for the original owner. Unless you can obtain the password or ownership information from the owner I don't have any other suggestions.

Did you nor at least turn it one just to see if it was in good working order. No one buys a laptop without first checking that it is in good working order, especially someone that is in the business of dealing in second hand goods..

Acer will open it for you. For $150.+

How anyone can forget a password that is needed every time the machine is turned on is beyond me. I am of an age where memory lapses are commonplace but I haven't reached the stage where I can forget something I use every day.
