I want to know how to dissasemble the ASUS V550CA CJ104H notebook in order to replace the LCD/VGA cable. Screen flickers unless I position the lid, then the picture is perfect.
im thinking you may just have a bad or broken hinge but it might still the cable as your thinking.try going to asus webdite and check model number there usally they have videos or screen shots hoe to do it.taking it apart and everything.good luck Davidw
The hinges themselves are not the issue, it's almost certainly the cable going bad due to constant bending where it hinges. Laptops vary but this is one of several general hits in Google about disassembly:

I am confident that you are right, there are numerous sites on youtube that show a general idea of what to do. I have done it before on a Toshiba laptop so feel cofident about the ASUS. Time will tell.
