I have a broken laptop screen. I want to permanently change it to an auxiliary screen when I boot up.

If it can be done at all, we'd still need to know make/model of the laptop (you don't list that info). The ability to do so (if at all) would likely be different on different machines. What procedure (if any) are you using now to get the external monitor to work?

As far as I know laptops cannot be made to boot direct to an external monitor.

Catch22 would be: if it were possible the change would need to be set in bios but you need a working screen in order to access bios.
