how to make desktop fit computer monitor

February 4, 2011 at 17:29:22
Specs: Windows Vista
Installed updated ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 driver. Now I can't get the desktop picture to fit the screen horizontaly.(We have wide screen moniter) I have tried the moniter screen adjustment buttons & tried adjusting screen resolution size via the display manager. It hasn't worked.

Tried to adjust the screen size using the ATI catalyst control manager to no avail. Not sure if this has a bearing on this-on bootup Vista came up with a warning saying the version of catalyst control was not supported by the graphics card and to enable it via the display manager or update the driver. Couldn't find where to do this & we have the latest driver.

Please help as have no idea what to do now

What graphics card or is the GPU inbuilt in the motherboard?

Have you tried holding down the ctrl key and tapping the + key?

Thanks for that. Holding control and hitting + only resizes the text but dosen't increase the width of the screen any.
