Specs: Windows 7 Home Premium 32 Bit, Pentium Dual Core
I wanted to install a second DVD drive in mmy Acer Aspire M5641. It has the drive bay for it, but there is a metal panel blocking it, and I cant find any screws to remove to get rid of the panel. How would I put in this drive?

As long as it's a regular drive bay all you have to do is twist the metal plate back and forth until the tabs holding it to the chassis break. Then remove it. It usually breaks pretty clean but sometimes you need to take a file to it to smooth the area before installing the drive.

If you use a file make sure none of the metal residue falls on the motherboard or other sensitive areas.

The manual doesn't say anything about adding a drive.
So the only way to remove the plate is to break it off? Ok, I'll see what I do.

Unless that acer chassis is different than the dozens of others I've had to do that to, then yeah, it'll just break off. I think having that metal bracket there gives the chassis additional strength when a drive bay is empty.
