You need to post all your hardware specs or go back to the home page here and use the scan tool. We need to know your hardware specs or if a pre-built computer, the brand a full model number.

New hard drives have no data on them and will not appear as one or more drive letters in Computer or Windows Explorer.
You must go to Control Panel - display as Small Icons or Large Icons (not Category) - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Disk Management - and make at least one partition on it and format the partition(s).
If you want more than one partition on it (it is WISE to have more than one if it's ever going to be your only drive), then change the size of the first partition to something smaller - 1,024mb/gb.

Thank you for prompt response..... you had it in one! I had NOT gone to Computer Management ..... I mistakingly read the instructions that the drive was already formatted. More slow witted by the day. All working now. Thanks again
