hey I have this huge HNC - iF281D monitor and hooked up to my Lenovo T520 Think Pad w Intel HD Graphics 3000, and an NVIDIA NVS 4200M and all drivers and software are up to date. The issue is that Randomly this Monitor shuts down and turns off the Display even though it is still powered on. I can be using it and it just goes Black - Display turns off. Power settings in the Control panel are ok and do not have any settings for turning off the Display on Power or Battery.
Re-installed the Graphics drivers and made sure every thing is up to date, even using a brand new VGA cord now, still doing the Display shut off thing randomly.

Try using the monitor on a different computer. If it still blacks out then most likely you have a faulty monitor.

Google the model number & you'll find plenty of info about bad capacitors. The repair kit costs about $15 but you'd have remove the old caps & then resolder new caps in their place.
