how to connect VCR- RCA to new monitor

February 6, 2011 at 12:02:55
Specs: Linux i686
Please explain how to view my VCR which only has RCA cable and TV in/out connections
to a new Acer monitor which only has the standard Video cable connection

Previously used a Commodore 64 Monitor --- which is now U.S.
Would Audio Video RV modulator help ?

Thanks. Vince.F

You need a composite to VGA converter.

Thanks-- I have a 15 pin connector which hooks up to the monitor with 3 coloured male connectors Red-green- Blue---- but the VCR has RCA female connections Red- White & Yellow which seems to be Video -----so how to connect this Yellow to the coloured pins of the Composite cable

Was able to sort out the Audio side --- but still in the dark for the Video

Red and White are Audio, left and right. Yellow is composite video. There should only be one connection on the VCR for composite video and that should also be yellow,
