MY VGA CABLE OF HP 7650 CRT GOT SPOILT. NOW I HAVE ANOTHER VGA CABLE FROM A DEAD MONITOR BUT THE INSIDE PIN CONFIGURATION CANNOT MATCH. IS IT POSSIBLE TO CUT THE WIRES AND LOOP THEM DIRECTLY TO THE FITTING PIN HEAD OF THE SPOILT VGA CABLE?

Are u sure whole wire is bad? Or it just head(the one with 15-pins)?

You'd have to use an ohmmeter or continuity tester to trace which wire goes to which pin on the computer end of both cables. Then on the bad cable trace the wire's position on the connection at the other end of the cable. Then you'd have to splice/solder the wires from the new cable to the old connector.

It's going to be tedious but can be done. But if you're like me you'll probably get frustrated and give up and just find another monitor.

At the very least it won't work. And with 15 wires you'll never be able to guess and get it right. You might be able to order a replacement cable but they usually run at least $30. Here's the HP part order page:

But you can probably find another used CRT monitor for less than you'd pay for a new cable.
