I have a Canon BJC 2010 which prints but also scans. When I scan, I get lines on my print out. How do I clean my Canon?

Does your scanner have an Automatic Document Feeder (ADF)? If so you should see two scanning windows under the lid. One is a large window for single page scans. The other is a Tall rectangular window for the ADF. The ADF drags the paper across the window to do a scan so if there is a spot on the widow it will show up as a line on your scans. Clean it with alcohol with the power unplugged. If cleaning the out side does not work then you need to take it to a repair shop to get the inside cleaned.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I have the bjc 2000series. It holds the ink cartridges for printing, and when I want to scan, I have to remove the ink cartridges and insert a scanner cartridges. When I open the door, the cartridge comes to the middle. There is no window. I have a feeling it is the rollers inside that need clean. I have no program in my pc to clean this printer/scanner. I have ordered a clean paper to run through my printer to clean it. I hope it works. In the mean time, hope others come up with more suggestions. Tried to write to Canon.com, but no response.
