how to change resolution for geforce 8600 gt

Specs: Windows XP
Hi all,
I have just bought an Asus widescreen 19" monitor with 1440 x 900 screen resolution.
My graphics card, Nvidia Geforce 8600 GT, does not list this resolution as an option in Nvidia Control Panel.
Would creating a custom resolution in the Nvidia Control Panel work for this monitor and what should the various settings be? I am running XP Professional.
Thanks for any help.
Hal

You need to update the graphics drivers.

The Asus monitor's native (best) screen resolution is 1440 X 900. This is what I would Iike to set up but this resolution is not supported by the card's driver. Thus my question regarding setting up a custom resolution in the Nvidia control panel.
