how to boot from external harddisk??

December 16, 2010 at 00:42:02
Specs: Windows 7, Core Due
i have a laptop with Win 7, also i work with industrial equipments that use some kind of programs that work just on XP, so i bought another HD for my laptop and install XP on it.
Every time i want to use XP, i must unplug the first hard and put the new hard with XP in my laptop.
I wonder if there is any way to make my laptop boot from external hard so i don't need to open my hard every time i want to swap the OS!!

Booting from an external hard drive is not feasible and is a breach of the EULA !

Why not just buy swappable caddies ?

Swappable caddies work for desktops not laptops.
Why not run XP in a Virtual Machine inside Win7 ? That way you need only one hard drive and can switch between operating systems at will, having both Win7 & XP running simultaneously.
