Is that the EXACT code - check again? It seems likely it is just the name of your external hard disk. If the hardware has failed then it probably needs replacing. Maybe reformatting it will help but you will lose your data and I wouldn't trust it after that.

You might be able to use the free version of Recuva before you do anything else but you will need to restore any files to another place:

You should be able to boot into the BIOS screens. No hard drive is required for that. See if the hard drive shows there. The link below may be of some help.
