Solved How do you remove the RAM cards in an E Machi

December 7, 2011 at 15:06:59
Specs: Windows Vista
Since my E Machine's power button died and there is no replacement clip for it, I bought a new to me (used) computer. I want to remove the RAM cards from the E Machine and transfer the data to my new computer. How do I safely find and remove those RAM cards?

If it's a desktop computer, there is probably NOTHING wrong with the power switch.
The most common reason an emachines desktop computer fails to boot normally is it's BESTEC brand power supply has failed.
Try connecting a power supply from a working computer if you can.

"I want to remove the RAM cards from the E Machine and transfer the data to my new computer"

There is no "data" held on ram cards. The data is all contained in hard drives.

You may be able to remove the drive from the dead Emachine and slave it into your new PC to retrieve documents, pictures, music & video files etc. Installed programs from the Emachine will not run in the new system. Those kind of things will have to be re-installed.
