How do I upgrade the drives on my Raid 0

Specs: Windows XP, p4 2.8
I have a dell precision 370 with 160 gig drives, how do I upgrade these to larger drives

With RAID 0 I believe your only option is to backup, install the new drives, reinstall the OS and restore your backup. I guess you could try a disk cloning utility, but I'm not sure how well they work with RAID setups.

I doubt if cloning would work. Because the data is split between two physical drives your options are limited.

Best do what ijack suggests and when you come to reinstall, abandon RAID 0 as it serves no useful purpose and just makes things more complicated than they need to be.

The idea behind RAID 0 is that it speeds up disk access but with modern disk technology the difference is negligible, if any, and only makes data recovery in the event of failure that more difficult.

okay that makes sense, suppose I could use two drives and go to raid 1 for data security - which would make sense for me, I suppose I just plug into a open SATA connection and tell windows to make me a new drive or?
