How do I set WD250YD as a SATA slave.

June 7, 2015 at 12:10:54
Specs: Windows 8.1
The WD250YD is connected to SATA 2 on my mother board, SATA 1 has my main drive connected to it, when the computer boots, the WD250YD is seen as a master in the BOIS,(which it need to be a slave), but windows 8.1 dose not show it as a drive in the computer folder, what do I have to do to have Windows 8.1 see it as another drive?

There is no such thing as master and slave with SATA drives. Have you used Disk Management in Windows to partition and format the disk? Until you do that you won't see it as a drive in Windows.

You probably also need to set your main drive as bootable and make sure that it is in the boot order just behind your optical drive. Then set your second drive as not bootable in BIOS and make sure that it is not in the boot order (it should not once you set it as non-bootable).

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
