Solved How do I rid of the Bad format error I keep getting?

Specs: Windows 7
Hello all. Months ago, I came to this site looking for assistance with my computer and got amazing results and bookmarked this site as THE place to go for tech help. So I am back one again.

I am currently using the LG KC550 (Wont get a smart phone for a while) and decided to purchase a Kingston 8GB Micro SD card to put photos, music and etc onto my phone. When I finally received the card and put it into my phone I got the "Bad Format Error". I attempted to re-insert the card, to no avail. I attached the adapter and inserted the card into my computer, that worked fine. I right clicked on the device and selected the "Format" option (while quick format was unselected) ,but that did not work either.

Does anyone out there know what I should do to fix the format? Thank you to all who read this and provide help of any kind.

Found the link below. Evidently your phone can't handle an 8GB SD card. Only 4GB is listed. Card density is an issue with older hardware that can use SD cards.

The following paraphrased from http://www.lg.com/uk/support-mobile/lg-KC550# on page 13

In order to format the card for this model

1 From the standby screen press MENU and select SETTINGS.
2 Choose Memory Status and select EXTERNAL MEMORY.
3 Press FORMAT and enter the password of 0000, unless changed. This should format the card
4 To view the new formatted folders on your KCC550 press menu and select MY STUFF. Choose EXTERNAL MEMORY

if you choose to format all stuff will be lost, recommend backing up any data prior to formatting

Something ironic. One year ago, I made a post asking for help, it was EXACTLY one year ago. Same day and everything. Life truly is circular sometimes....

Oh my gosh I remember going to this exact page when I was considering buying this phone. I cant believe I missed this point. Thank you so much for showing me this. I guess I'll just save the 8GB card for another device.

Again thank you.
