Solved How do I reinstall webcam

Specs: Windows 10
I am trying to get the webcam on my HP G72 notebook to work again. Skype says that it cannot find it or recognize it, and when looking on the Device Manager, I cannot locate it either. I am afraid that it may have been inadvertently deleted somehow. Just trying to get the webcam on this notebook functioning again....

You could try the latest webcam driver from HP support.

To get it you will need your FULL model number. This is how to find it:

There is a "Software and Drivers" tab at the top of the page.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Well, the webcam cannot working, you need try to install the driver. At first, enter the device manager to click scan for hardware changes to see if it can help you install the webcam driver or something maybe you deleted.

Of course, you can find the webcam drivers from hp support to download the driver to install by yourself.

If not, I think you can try to follow this article to solve your problem:

If driver doesn't fix it and it's not listed anywhere in Device Manger, the webcam itself may be faulty and therefore no longer detected by Windows.

Even with no driver, the webcam (if it isn't faulty) should still be detected and listed in Device Manager as an unknown device (yellow question-mark against it).

HP laptops are notorious for components failing, usually the WiFi adapter or the webcam.

If it has failed, and the laptop's warranty has expired, you can buy a USB webcam and use that instead,
