i bought a 1 tb hard drive and installed win 7, everything works fine but the hard drive says it only has 125 gb useable space, not a tb, formatted it and still nothing, what do i have to do to open the rest of the hard drive?
125 gig is right about the 48 bit LBA limit for drives on older systems. However both your hardware and OS should have no problem seeing beyond that. When you originally set up the drive, did you let the windows 7 disk do it or did you use some other software? Were you asked anything during the setup about the size of the partition?
