Solved how do i get my desktop pc to boot from cd dvd

Specs: Windows 10, intel pentium 3700
have packard bell imedia s2984 was 4gb ram added another 4gb total 8gb ram now cant get it to boot back up. told it could need bios adjustment {upgrade required} tried del get bios screen cant get it to read from cd - dvd * says f12 but no joy. any ideas im not great in this area would appreciate some info / help - thanks - mart south wales uk.

Is this a desktop or a laptop?

Are you sure it says press f12 and not f2?

Are you sure the new RAM is compatible? Are you sure F2 isn't the proper key to enter the BIOS like trvlr stated? I found this screenshot but have no idea what model it came from: https://www.picclickimg.com/d/l400/...

EDIT: looking at the link, the screen shot is from an iStart D2391.

Take out the new RAM and check if it boots OK
Where did you get the RAM? Sure it is a compatible type??
