Solved How do I get my computer to detect newly installed RAM ?

Specs: Windows 7 Professional, Intel Core i5-4690 @ 3.5 Ghz /8GB
I just installed 8gb of DDR3 1600MHz RAM in 2nd slot / channel of my computer. So far, the system isn't detecting it. AS far as I can tell it matches what is already installed in channel 1, so dual channel RAM should kick in.

Take it out & snap it back in place again; do it a couple of times to clean the contacts. Make sure the system is powered off & unplugged. And make sure the RAM is fully seated & secure when you're done.

Great news. If it should happen again clean the edge connectors with a pencil eraser too.
