If it needs a certain type partition or directory arrangement that information is probably in the user guide for the TV. If the TV has a function to format the drive it may be best to do it that way. Also, if it's a flash drive or SD card are you sure it's compatible with the TV?

My samsung tv is able to view all jpg photos no problem on a usb stick that was formatted on a windows 7 machine.

Make sure your pictures are in the 8.3 file naming convention. In other words, the file name should be exactly 8 characters long with the 3 letter .jpg extension.

If that still doesn't work, try creating a folder on the flash drive called DCIM and put the pictures in there.
