How do I fix

Specs: Windows 10
My HP 1517 printer will not allow me to print a report from Quicken 2000. It states "cannot initialize printer". It has printed these reports before but for some reason not now.

Have you applied/installed any windows updates (drivers included) since the last time the printer worked OK with Quicken 2000?

Do you have any restore points predating the current problem's arrival?

Have you tried printing from another program to see if it's specific to Quicken?

no, I have not installed any updates. I printed these reports last September and when I tried to print in June of 2018, I could not print.

About 9 months ago since last printed from Quicken... I'm still pondering, wondering if you are dealing with a compatibility issue with Q-2000 and the latest incarnation of win-10?

There have been numerous "fixes" - sorry updates/improvments - to win-10. Who inows what M$-land in its wisdom has done since last September... Have you checked to see if Quicken have posted any updates, or even if they still regard Q-2000 to be fully ok with win-10, let alone M$-land's take on it?

Incidentally this issue emerged for others at least two years ago...

This is just one link in that vein:

and if you run a google trawl/search using:

windows-10 compatility with quicken 2000

as the search term/string, you'll get a lot more in similar vein

incidentally - a possible workaround...

Save the Quicken file/document as a pdf; then see if that will print ok. You may find Adobe Acrobat pdf reader ok for printing, or one of several other free pdf reader apps?

This Quicken's how to save as pdf...
