Solved How do I find the password in a used computer ?

January 27, 2021 at 11:42:38
Specs: Windows 7, Pentium 4 2GHz / 4 gigs.
I bought a used Acer computer for $15 a couple of years ago. The seller gave me the system password on a little piece of paper (you know how that goes) and I lost it. Grrrrrr. How can I find the password ? Thanks

Maybe this:

but otherwise you may have to contact Acer directly if such fails. Next time you get a machine with such a password (and the seller has it), remove it immediately.

I've used the software available at the following site numerous times. You'll have to download it & create a bootable CD or bootable USB flash drive. When you boot off it, just read what's on the screen & follow the instructions. Just remove (blank) the password rather than trying to recover it, you can create your own afterwards if necessary.

There's also Lazesoft "Recover My Password" which works essentially the same way but has a prettier user interface. Scroll to the bottom on the page: https://www.lazesoft.com/download.html
