Solved How do I centre my screen, which has suddenly moved right ?

September 29, 2018 at 17:39:37
Specs: Windows 7
My screen view has moved too far to the right, obscuring my top right controls.

How can I bring it back left, please, so that I can regain control ?

Is it on every screen including the desktop or just your browser. If it's just when using the browser try another one temporarily (such as Firefox) to see if that is the same.

What happens if you try to make the screen very small by dragging the sides in - will it let you? If so you can then try resizing it.

Another way is to drag the whole screen down and left by using the left mouse button on the top bar - that way you should be able to access the top buttons.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Hi Gerry,
try CTRL and - (minus)
opposite is CTRL and +

This should allow you to access everything on the screen.

Good Luck - Keep us posted

Thanks, Mike - I've just tried that (with both ctrl and minus and then ctrl plus), but neither works. The page stays about three centimeters too far right on the monitor. Best. Gerry.

Is the display laptop or external monitor?

It's on my Desktop computer, Derek. It comes up on my brouser, on youtube and on my facebook page..

Thanks so much for your help.

I corrected it last time, but now I've forgotten what I did to put it right, to be honest.

Gerry.

Try what I said above, also:

Hold the Control Key then rotate the mouse scroll wheel towards you.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Partial success, Dear Friend !

I've done as you suggested and dragged the top bar down and left, and that has given me back the right operating buttons, at least.

The trouble is, it has left me now with a gap on the right of about three centimeters, and now the left side of the screen is blotted-out by that width !

Thanks, anyway, because at least I'm able to X things out, when I need to ! Gerry.

Hooray ! Success !

I've now hit the middle two superimposed shape on that X at top left section, and its gone back to normal !

Thanks, so much, for you much valued help and noted concern. Gerry.

Dear Derek,

Thanks to YOU - and Computing.Net - it's now fixed.

I did what you told me, ergo: *drag the whole screen down and left by using the left mouse button on the top bar - that way you should be able to access the top buttons* Thanks, so much ! Gerry..

It's the very least I could do, Derek's advice was bang-on target, and he sorted the problem for me !

I've plastered this all over my Facebook Page, and ensured that the Computing.Net logo is underneath my every comment.

You are fantastic !

Thanks, Again.

Gerry.

Don't worry... Derek and I enjoy a certain weird (to some - usually non Brits) Brit banter on occasion...
