How can I do a hard reset on my N1723 iCoustic mp3 player?

Specs: Windows 7
I've used the unit for over a year (and it has always worked with ease) but since transferring a couple of audio files, I can't seem to get past the opening screen. I can view the files when plugging into my laptop so I know they're there. Please help!

Thanks for the suggestion, I appreciate you taking the time to answer. I ended up reformatting the mp3 player (through my laptop) and that solved the issue. I had to delete all of the files but it was worth it!
